ECOWITT WiFi Soil Moisture Sensor Kit

ECOWITT WiFi Soil Moisture Sensor Kit

The end of guessing whether the garden needs water—a wireless probe reads soil moisture and reports it on 915MHz to a Wi-Fi gateway, viewable live in the Ecowitt app, and one gateway can host up to eight sensors for multi-zone beds. It's cheap, accurate, and genuinely useful. The only requirement: the bare probe can't display anything on its own, so the included gateway is mandatory.

Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller

A sprinkler controller that waters on the weather, not a dumb timer — it pulls local forecasts and skips cycles before rain, which is where the water-bill savings (and utility rebates) come from. A DIY swap for most existing systems in under an hour, and the app is the best in the category. It wants the separate enclosure outdoors; 8 zones covers most homes, 16-zone for bigger yards.

WORX Landroid M 20V Robotic Lawn Mower

A robot that mows the lawn so you stop spending Saturdays on it—autonomous on up to a quarter acre, app-scheduled over Wi-Fi, with an AIA algorithm that cuts right to the edge and a rain sensor that sends it home. An optional GPS module guards against theft. The one real chore: a multi-hour, one-time setup laying a perimeter boundary wire around the yard.

Orbit B-hyve Smart Hose Watering Timer

A faucet timer that waters the garden on a schedule and skips the day it's about to rain—WeatherSense pulls the local forecast and adjusts automatically, all controlled from the app through the included Wi-Fi hub, and it's EPA WaterSense certified. It works with Alexa. The thing to plan around: the bundled hub has to stay in range indoors, so a far-flung yard can hit a connectivity gap.

Birdbuddy PRO Solar Smart Bird Feeder with Camera

A bird feeder that introduces you to the birds visiting it—5MP photos and 2K live video, on-device AI that names the species and alerts your phone, and a solar roof that trickle-charges the battery so you rarely climb up to it. It's a small daily delight that mostly tends itself. The catch: some of the fancier AI and collection features sit behind a paid subscription tier.
